Community Training Workshops

We will host local hands-on workshops to educate residents on setting up and maintaining LoRa mesh nodes for themselves and their neighbors. We will also help you to learn how to use the mesh to contact loved ones far away, not in the local mesh.

Alternate Communication Network

Establish a resilient LoRa mesh network for neighbor-to-neighbor communication during power and internet outages. Like GMRS radio's, mesh radio's are low power. Unlike GMRS radio's, LoRa mesh radio's relay encrypted short text messages across all participating mesh radio's to get to their destination within the mesh. Your cel phone connects via bluetooth to your mesh radio node and you have a familiar text messaging interface to communicate with local friends and neighbors.

Expand the Mesh for other uses

So many places in Nevada County are without cellular coverage. We can expand the mesh via inexpensive repeaters to potentially cover most recreational use area's. We can do this without governments, tech-Bro companies or dollar grant handouts.

We can setup a free public mesh that supports outdoor recreation, environmental monitoring of air and water, neighbor communications, community group messaging, etc. All volunteer, low maintenance and community driven.

Connecting neighbors, even when networks fail.
